Ahl al-Qur'an (Chakralawi movement) is a living tradition within Quranism. Also written Ahl al-Dhikr wa'l-Qur'an, Ahl-i Qur'an.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: 'Abdullah Chakralawi (d. 1916). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. 'Abdullah Chakralawi founded the community of the Ahl al-Dhikr wa'l-Qur'an (Ahl al-Qur'an for short) in Lahore at the beginning of the twentieth century, holding the Qur'an sufficiently comprehensive as a divine source of guidance and rejecting the hadith corpus as a whole as authoritative on theological and ritual questions. The movement was influential mostly in the Punjab. No founding year is given by the sources reached; Chakralawi's death is given as 1916.
