Dawoodi Bohra is a living tradition within Tayyibi Isma'ilism. Also written Da'udi Bohras.
Origin
No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Formed when the Tayyibis divided over the succession to the office of Da'i al-Mutlaq, the Dawoodi Bohras following Dawood b. Qutubshah and the Sulaymanis following Sulayman b. Hassan. The commonly cited date 1592, and the identification of the disputed office as the 27th da'i, were reachable in this pass only via Wikipedia and are therefore NOT asserted; the split itself is attested by the scholarly sources cited.
