Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavism (Caitanya movement) is a living tradition within Vaiṣṇavism. Also written Gaudiya Vaishnavism, Bengali Vaishnavism, Chaitanya sect.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Caitanya (Chaitanya Mahāprabhu). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Britannica: Caitanya, 1485–1533, founder of the Gauḍīya sect, which teaches acintya-bhedābheda, 'inconceivable duality and nonduality' — the relation between God and the world is beyond human comprehension. Worldmark (Narayanan) also gives 1485–1533. No founding year given.
