General Baptists is a living tradition within Baptist tradition.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Thomas Helwys. Founding date given as 1611. Thomas Helwys and other members of Smyth's group returned to England in 1611 or 1612 and established a Baptist church in London. General Baptists held that Christ died for everyone.
