Nondenominational Christianity is a living tradition within Protestantism. Also written independent churches, community churches.
Origin
No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Not a denomination and not a dated foundation: congregations that decline denominational affiliation, mostly evangelical or charismatic in theology. Pew found the share of US evangelicals identifying with nondenominational churches rose from 13% to 19% between 2007 and 2014, and the 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study records continued growth in nondenominational identification.
