Origin
Founder named in the sources: Baba Jaimal Singh (1838–1903). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Melton records the Beas line as established by Baba Jaimal Singh (1838–1903) and developed into the largest Sant Mat organisation under Maharaj Sawan Singh (1858–1948) and Maharaj Charan Singh (b. 1916). No founding year is given; the commonly cited date of 1891 for the Beas settlement was not verified here.
