Shadhiliyya is a living tradition within Sufism. Also written Shadhili order.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Abu'l-Hasan al-Shadhili (d. 1258). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Al-Shadhili, of Moroccan origin, is named as the founder; his death is given as 1258. The order was among the twelve major tariqas established by the fourteenth century. No founding year is given.
