Swaminarayan Sampradaya is a living tradition within Vaiṣṇavism. Also written Swaminarayan Hinduism, Uddhav Sampradaya.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Sahajānand Swāmī (Swāmīnārāyaṇ / Ghanshyam), 1781–1830. No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. Worldmark (Vasudha Narayanan) names Ghanshyam/Swaminarayan, born 1781, and places the movement's establishment in Gujarat. WRSP gives his dates as 1781–1830. No source reached supplies an agreed founding year for the sampradāya as an institution, so foundedYear is empty rather than estimated.
