Taizhou school

Taizhou school is recorded within Lu-Wang school (Learning of Heart-mind, xinxue) and is no longer extant. Also written 泰州學派.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Wang Gen (1483–1541). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. No founding date in my sources. A sixteenth-century radical offshoot of Wang Yangming's teaching; the Stanford Encyclopedia names Wang Gen (1483–1541), Luo Rufang (1515–1588) and Li Zhi (1527–1602). Known for extending moral cultivation to commoners and, in Li Zhi's case, for positions that drew official condemnation.
