Vaḍagalai (Northern school) is a living tradition within Śrī Vaiṣṇavism (Śrī Sampradāya). Also written Vadakalai.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Vedānta Deśika (Veṅkaṭanātha). No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. IEP: 'Within two centuries after Rāmānuja, the Śrī Vaiṣṇava tradition split into two separate sub-traditions.' The Northern school is founded by Vedānta Deśika. No year given.
