Viśiṣṭādvaita is a living tradition within Vedānta (Uttara Mīmāṃsā). Also written Vishishtadvaita, qualified non-dualism.
Origin
Founder named in the sources: Rāmānuja. No founding year is given below, because the sources read do not agree on one and a date has not been chosen for them. IEP: Viśiṣṭādvaita, 'Qualified Non-Dualism' or 'Non-duality of the qualified whole'; Rāmānuja was its chief proponent within the broader Vedānta tradition. IEP's Hindu Philosophy survey dates Rāmānuja to the 12th century.
