قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ أَوْ مُسْلِمٍ مَاتَ وَ تَرَكَ دَيْناً لَمْ يَكُنْ فِي فَسَادٍ وَ لَا إِسْرَافٍ فَعَلَى الْإِمَامِ أَنْ يَقْضِيَهُ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ فَعَلَيْهِ إِثْمُ ذَلِكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَقُولُ إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقاتُ لِلْفُقَراءِ وَ الْمَساكِينِ الْآيَةَ فَهُوَ مِنَ الْغَارِمِينَ وَ لَهُ سَهْمٌ عِنْدَ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنْ حَبَسَهُ فَإِثْمُهُ عَلَيْهِ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے ابان بن عثمان سے، انہوں نے صباح بن سیابہ سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله نے فرمایا: جو بھی مؤمن یا مسلمان مر جائے اور ایسا قرض چھوڑ جائے جو فساد یا اسراف میں نہ لیا گیا ہو، تو اس کی ادائیگی امام پر ہے۔ اگر وہ اسے ادا نہ کرے تو اس کا گناہ اسی پر ہوگا۔ بے شک اللہ، بابرکت اور بلند و برتر، فرماتا ہے: “صدقے صرف فقیروں اور مسکینوں کے لیے ہیں...” — آیت۔ پس وہ قرضداروں میں سے ہے، اور امام کے پاس اس کے لیے ایک حصہ ہے۔ اگر وہ اسے روک لے تو اس کا گناہ اسی پر ہے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, fom Ali Bin Al Hakam, fom Aban Bin Usman, from Sabbah Bin Sayaba, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Whichever <span class="iTxt">Momin </span>or Muslim dies and leaves debts which do not happen to be regarding corruption or extravagance, so it is upon the Imam<sup>asws</sup> that he<sup>asws</sup> fulfils it. Therefore, if he<sup>asws</sup> does not fulfil it, the sin of that would be upon him<sup>asws</sup>. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High is Saying <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:9#h60"><a href="/books/quran:9#h60">[9:60]</a></a> But rather, the charities are only for the poor and the needy</span> – the Verse. So he is from the debtors, and for him would be a share with the Imam<sup>asws</sup>, and if he<sup>asws</sup> were to withhold it, so its sin would be upon him<sup>asws</sup>’.
