سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ كُلْ مِنَ الْبَيْضِ مَا لَمْ يَسْتَوِ رَأْسَاهُ وَ قَالَ مَا كَانَ مِنْ بَيْضِ طَيْرِ الْمَاءِ مِثْلَ بَيْضِ الدَّجَاجِ وَ عَلَى خِلْقَتِهِ أَحَدُ رَأْسَيْهِ مُفَرْطَحٌ وَ إِلَّا فَلَا تَأْكُلْ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے ہارون بن مسلم سے، انہوں نے مسعدہ بن صدقہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: انڈوں میں سے وہ کھاؤ جن کے دونوں سرے برابر نہ ہوں۔ اور فرمایا: جو پانی کے پرندوں کے انڈوں میں سے ہو، مرغی کے انڈے جیسا ہو، اور اس کی قدرتی ساخت پر اس کے دونوں سروں میں سے ایک چوڑا ہو — (وہ کھاؤ)؛ ورنہ مت کھاؤ۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Haroun Bin Muslim, from Mas’ada Bin Sadaqa who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Eat from the eggs what is not equal to its top (oblong)’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘(Eat) what was from an egg from the bird of the water, like the egg of the chicken, and upon its creation one of its end is wider, or else do not eat’.
