John Shaqi

إِنَّ جَارِيَةً لَنَا أَصَابَهَا الْحَيْضُ وَ كَانَ لَا يَنْقَطِعُ عَنْهَا حَتَّى أَشْرَفَتْ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ فَأَمَرَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَنْ تُسْقَى سَوِيقَ الْعَدَسِ فَسُقِيَتْ فَانْقَطَعَ عَنْهَا وَ عُوفِيَتْ .


Translation

And from him, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ali Bin Mahziyar who said, ‘A slave girls of our was hit by the menstruation, and it would not get cut-off from her until she came near the death. So Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> ordered that she should be made to drink the Suweyq of lentils. So she was made to drink it, so it got cut-off from her, and she recovered’.
