لَدَغَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) عَقْرَبٌ فَنَفَضَهَا وَ قَالَ لَعَنَكِ اللَّهُ فَمَا يَسْلَمُ مِنْكِ مُؤْمِنٌ وَ لَا كَافِرٌ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِالْمِلْحِ فَوَضَعَهُ عَلَى مَوْضِعِ اللَّدْغَةِ ثُمَّ عَصَرَهُ بِإِبْهَامِهِ حَتَّى ذَابَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي الْمِلْحِ مَا احْتَاجُوا مَعَهُ إِلَى دِرْيَاقٍ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Abu Abdullah, from his father, and Amro Bin Ibrahim, altogether from Khalaf Bin Hammad, from yaqoub Bin Shuayb, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘A scorpion stung Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, so he<sup>saww</sup> shook it off and said: ‘May Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Curse you, for neither a Believer nor an Infidel is safe from you’. Then he<sup>saww</sup> called for the salt, so he<sup>saww</sup> placed it upon the place of the bite and pressed it by his<sup>saww</sup> thumb until it melted. Then he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘If the people knew what was in the salt, they would not be needy along with it, for any (other) antidote’.
