خَيْرُ تُمُورِكُمُ الْبَرْنِيُّ يَذْهَبُ بِالدَّاءِ وَ لَا دَاءَ فِيهِ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْإِعْيَاءِ وَ لَا ضَرَرَ لَهُ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْبَلْغَمِ وَ مَعَ كُلِّ تَمْرَةٍ حَسَنَةٌ وَ فِي رِوَايَةٍ أُخْرَى يَهْنَأُ وَ يَمْرَأُ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْإِعْيَاءِ وَ يُشْبِعُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Amro Bin Usman, from Abu Amro, from a man, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The best of your dates is <span class="iTxt">Al-Barny</span>, it does away with the illnesses, and there is no illness in it, and it does away with the fatigue and there is no harmfulness for it, and it does away with the phlegm; and with every date is a Reward’. And in another report, ‘It is palatable, and it is wholesome (nourishing), and it does away with the fatigue, and it satiates’.
