لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ سَبَقْتَ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ وَ أَنْتَ بُعِثْتَ آخِرَهُمْ وَ خَاتَمَهُمْ قَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِرَبِّي وَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَجَابَ حِينَ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَ أَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَ لَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى فَكُنْتُ أَنَا أَوَّلَ نَبِيٍّ قَالَ بَلَى فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ بِالْإِقْرَارِ بِاللَّهِ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے، احمد بن محمد سے، ابن محبوب سے، صالح بن سهل سے، ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ قریش کے بعض لوگوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله سے: “آپ نے کس چیز کے ذریعے انبیاء پر سبقت حاصل کی، جبکہ آپ کو ان سب کے آخر میں اور ان کے خاتم کے طور پر بھیجا گیا؟” انہوں نے فرمایا: “بے شک میں اپنے رب پر ایمان لانے والوں میں سب سے پہلے تھا، اور سب سے پہلے جواب دینے والا تھا جب اللہ نے انبیاء کا عہد لیا اور انہیں خود ان کے خلاف گواہ بنایا:” “کیا میں تمہارا رب نہیں ہوں؟” انہوں نے کہا: “ہاں۔” “پس میں وہ پہلا نبی تھا جس نے کہا: ‘ہاں’؛ اس طرح میں نے اللہ کے اقرار میں ان پر سبقت حاصل کی۔”
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Salih Bin Sahl, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>: ‘Some of the Qureysh said to Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, ‘By which thing do you<sup>saww</sup> precede the Prophets<sup>saww</sup>, and you<sup>saww</sup> were Sent at the end of them<sup>as</sup> and as their<sup>as</sup> Seal?’ He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘I<sup>saww</sup> was the first one to believe in my<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup>, and the first one to answer when Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Took the Covenant of the Prophets<sup>as</sup> and Made them to testify upon themselves<sup>as</sup> <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:7#h172"><a href="/books/quran:7#h172">[7:172]</a></a> Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes!</span>. Thus it was so that I<sup>saww</sup> was the first Prophet<sup>as</sup> to say: ‘Yes’, therefore I<sup>saww</sup> preceded them by the acknowledgement with Allah<sup>azwj</sup>’.
