سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْكُرَّاثِ فَقَالَ كُلْهُ فَإِنَّ فِيهِ أَرْبَعَ خِصَالٍ يُطَيِّبُ النَّكْهَةَ وَ يَطْرُدُ الرِّيَاحَ وَ يَقْطَعُ الْبَوَاسِيرَ وَ هُوَ أَمَانٌ مِنَ الْجُذَامِ لِمَنْ أَدْمَنَ عَلَيْهِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad Bin Bundar, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Ali Al Hamdany, from Amro Bin Isa, from Furaat Bin Ahnaf who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> was asked about the leek, so he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Eat it, for therein are four qualities – It aromatises the breath, and it dispels the wind, and it cuts off the hemorrhoids, and it is a safety from the leprosy for the one who is habitual over it’.
