دُرُست بن ابی منصور نے مجھ سے روایت کی کہ اس نے ابو الحسن الاول علیہ السلام سے پوچھا۔ کیا رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله ابو طالب کے زیرِ اثر تھے؟ تو انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: نہیں۔ بلکہ وہ وصیتوں کے امین تھے، پھر انہوں نے انہیں اس کے سپرد کر دیا صلى الله عليه وآله۔ اس نے کہا: میں نے عرض کیا، تو کیا اس نے وصیتیں اس بنیاد پر اس کے سپرد کیں کہ وہ اس کے زیرِ اثر تھا؟ تو انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: اگر وہ اس کے زیرِ اثر/مجبور ہوتا تو وہ وصیت اس کے حوالے نہ کرتا۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: پھر میں نے کہا، تو ابوطالبؓ کی حالت کیا تھی؟ انہوں نے علیہ السلام فرمایا: اس نے نبی اور اس چیز کی تصدیق کی جو وہ لے کر آئے تھے، اور اس نے وصیتیں ان کے حوالے کر دیں، اور وہ اسی دن وفات پا گیا۔

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Saeed Bin Abdullah, from a group of our companions,from Ahmad Bin Hilal, from Amayya Bin Ali Al Qaysi who said, ‘Dorost Bin Abu Mansour narrated to me that he asked Abu Al-Hassan^asws the 1^st, ‘Was Rasool-Allah^saww (ever) cautioned by Abu Talib^asws?’ So he^asws said: ‘No, he^asws was a repository of the bequest, so he^asws handed it over to him^saww’. I said, ‘So he^as handed over the bequest to him^saww upon that he^saww was incapacitated by him^asws?’ So he^asws said: ‘Had he^saww been incapacitated by him^asws, he^asws would not have handed over the bequest to him^saww’. So I said, ‘So what was the state of Abu Talib^as^ws?’ He^saww said: ‘He^as^ws acknowledge with the Prophet^saww and with whatever he^saww came with, and handed over the bequest, and passed away on that day’.
