قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ نَبِيّاً قَطُّ إِلَّا وَ فِي عِلْمِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ إِذَا أَكْمَلَ دِينَهُ كَانَ فِيهِ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ وَ لَمْ تَزَلِ الْخَمْرُ حَرَاماً وَ إِنَّمَا يُنْقَلُونَ مِنْ خَصْلَةٍ إِلَى خَصْلَةٍ وَ لَوْ حُمِلَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ جُمْلَةً لَقُطِعَ بِهِمْ دُونَ الدِّينِ قَالَ وَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ أَرْفَقَ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَمِنْ رِفْقِهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى أَنَّهُ نَقَلَهُمْ مِنْ خَصْلَةٍ إِلَى خَصْلَةٍ وَ لَوْ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ جُمْلَةً لَهَلَكُوا .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Hammad, from Hareyz, from Zurara who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic did not Send a Prophet<sup>as</sup> at all except it was in the Knowledge of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> that when He<sup>azwj</sup> Completes His<sup>azwj</sup> Religion, among it would be the Prohibition of the wine, and the wine will never cease to be unlawful. But rather, it (Religion) changes from one characteristic to another, and had that be burdened upon them as a whole, they (people) would have been cut-off to be without the Religion’. He (the narrator) said, ‘And Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no one more Kinder than Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic, so from the Kindness of the Blessed and High is that He<sup>azwj</sup> Transfers them from one characteristic to another, and had He<sup>azwj</sup> Burdened them with the whole of it, they would have been destroyed’.
