Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, and Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, and a number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, altogether from Ibn Mahboub, from Khalid Bin Jareer, from Abu Al Rabie Al Shamy who said, ‘Abu Abdullahasws was asked about the wine, so heasws said: ‘Rasool-Allahsaww said: ‘Allahazwj Mighty and Majestic Sent mesaww as a Mercy to the worlds, and for the obliteration (destruction) of the musical instruments, and the affairs of the Pre-Islamic period, and the idols’. And hesaww said: ‘Mysaww Lordazwj Vowed: “A servant of Mineazwj will not drink wine in the world except that Isaww shall Quench himas similar to whatever he has drunk from the scalding water on the Day of Judgement as a Punishment, regardless of there being Forgiveness for him; nor would any servant of Mineazwj drink it, be he a young child or an owned slave, except that Iazwj would Quench him from the scalding water on the Day of Judgement, as a Punishment afterwards, regardless of there being Forgiveness for him”.
