John Shaqi

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) شَارِبُ الْخَمْرِ إِنْ مَرِضَ فَلَا تَعُودُوهُ وَ إِنْ مَاتَ فَلَا تَحْضُرُوهُ وَ إِنْ شَهِدَ فَلَا تُزَكُّوهُ وَ إِنْ خَطَبَ فَلَا تُزَوِّجُوهُ وَ إِنْ سَأَلَكُمْ أَمَانَةً فَلَا تَأْتَمِنُوهُ .


Translation

Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan, from Al A’ala, from one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘The wine drinker, if he were to fall sick, so do not console him, and if he dies, so do not attend it (funeral), and if he were to testify, so do not ratify him, and if he proposes, so do not give in marriage to him, and if he were to ask you for an entrustment, so do not entrust it to him’.
