إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لَمْ يُحَرِّمِ الْخَمْرَ لِاسْمِهَا وَ لَكِنْ حَرَّمَهَا لِعَاقِبَتِهَا فَمَا فَعَلَ فِعْلَ الْخَمْرِ فَهُوَ خَمْرٌ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Yaqteen, from Yaqoub Bin Yaqteen, from his brother Ali Bin Yaqteen, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ibrahim<sup>asws</sup> (7th Imam<sup>asws</sup>) having said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High did not Prohibit the wine for its name, but Prohibited it due to its consequences. So whatever affects with the effect of the wine, so it is (classified as) wine’.
