قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) لِمَ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ الْخَمْرَ فَقَالَ حَرَّمَهَا لِفِعْلِهَا وَ مَا تُؤَثِّرُ مِنْ فَسَادِهَا .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, and Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, altogether, from Amro Bin Usman, from Muhammad Bin Abdullah, from one of our companions who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Why did Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Prohibit the wine?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He<sup>azwj</sup> Prohibit it due to its effects, and whatever is inherited from its spoiling’.
