Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Muhammad Bin Ahmad, from Ahmad Bin Al Hassan, from Amro Bin Saeed, from Musaddaq Bin Sadaqa, from Ammar Bin Musa, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullahasws, said, ‘I asked himasws about the vat (container) in which the wine happens to be, and there happens to be vinegar in it, or water, or sauce, or olives. So heasws said: ‘If it is washed, so there is no problem’. And (I asked) about the pitcher, and other such (utensils) in which the wine happens to be, is it correct for there to be water in it?’ Heasws said: ‘If it is washed, so there is no problem’. And heasws said regarding a cup or a vessel in which the wine is drunk: ‘Wash it three times’. Heasws was asked, ‘Is it sufficient that the water is poured into it?’ Heasws said: ‘It is not sufficient until it is rubbed by the hand and washed three times’.
