قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ عِنْدَنَا يَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ عَلَى الرِّيقِ أَجْوَدُ مَا يَكُونُ قَالَ لَا بَلْ يُؤْكَلُ شَيْءٌ قَبْلَهُ يُطْفِئُ الْمَرَارَةَ وَ يُسَكِّنُ حَرَارَةَ الْجَوْفِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Rafa’at Bin Musa, from the one who informed it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> that whenever he<sup>asws</sup> wanted to enter the bathhouse, he<sup>asws</sup> took something, so he<sup>asws</sup> ate it. I said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The people with us are saying that it is much better upon the empty stomach as can be’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, but eating something before it cools the gallbladder and settles the heat of the interior’.
