قُبِضَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُوسَى (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) وَهُوَ ابْنُ تِسْعٍ وَأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً وَأَشْهُرٍ فِي عَامِ اثْنَيْنِ وَمِائَتَيْنِ عَاشَ بَعْدَ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً إِلا شَهْرَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاثَةً.

سعد بن عبداللہ اور عبداللہ بن جعفر، دونوں مل کر، ابراہیم بن مہزیار سے، اپنے بھائی علی بن مہزیار سے، حسین بن سعید سے، محمد بن سنان سے، جنہوں نے کہا: علی بن موسی علیہ السلام چھیالیس سال اور کچھ مہینے کی عمر میں سن دو سو دو میں وفات پا گئے۔ وہ موسیٰ بن جعفر علیہ السلام کے بعد بیس سال تک زندہ رہے، دو یا تین مہینے کم۔
Translation
11. Sa‘d ibn ‘Abdallah and ‘Abdallah ibn Ja‘far all have narrated from Ibrahim ibn Mahziyar from his brother Ali ibn Mahziyar from al-Hassan al-Husayn ibn Sa‘idfm Muhammad ibn Sinan who has said the following. “Ali ibn Musa (a.s.) died at the age of forty nine and few months in the year two hundred and two AH. He lived for nineteen years and two or three month after the death of Musa ibn Ja‘far (a.s.).”
