حُبِسَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عِنْدَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ نَارْمَشَ وَ هُوَ أَنْصَبُ النَّاسِ وَ أَشَدُّهُمْ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَ قِيلَ لَهُ افْعَلْ بِهِ وَ افْعَلْ فَمَا أَقَامَ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا يَوْماً حَتَّى وَضَعَ خَدَّيْهِ لَهُ وَ كَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُ بَصَرَهُ إِلَيْهِ إِجْلَالًا وَ إِعْظَاماً فَخَرَجَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ وَ هُوَ أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ بَصِيرَةً وَ أَحْسَنُهُمْ فِيهِ قَوْلًا .

علی بن محمد، محمد بن اسماعیل العلوی سے، جنہوں نے کہا: ابو محمد (علیہ السلام) کو علی بن نارمش کے پاس قید کیا گیا، اور وہ لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ دشمنی رکھنے والا اور آلِ ابی طالب کے خلاف سب سے سخت تھا۔ اور اسے کہا گیا: "اس کے ساتھ یہ کرو اور وہ کرو"، مگر وہ ایک دن سے زیادہ اس کے پاس نہ ٹھہرا یہاں تک کہ اس نے عاجزی کے ساتھ اپنے رخسار اس کے سامنے رکھ دیے، اور وہ تعظیم و جلال کی وجہ سے اپنی نگاہ اس کی طرف نہ اٹھاتا تھا۔ پھر وہ اس کے پاس سے اس حال میں نکلا کہ وہ اس کے بارے میں لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ بصیرت رکھنے والا اور اس کے بارے میں سب سے بہتر گفتگو کرنے والا بن چکا تھا۔
Translation
Ali Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Ismail Al Alawy who said, ‘Abu Muhammad<sup>asws</sup> (11<sup>th</sup> Imam<sup>asws</sup>) was imprisoned with (the warden) Ali Bin Narmash, and he was the most hostile (Nasibi) of the people and the harshest of them upon the Progeny<sup>asws</sup> of Abu Talib<sup>as</sup><sup>ws</sup>, and it was said to him, ‘Deal with him<sup>asws</sup>, and he dealt with him<sup>asws</sup>. So he<sup>asws</sup> did not stay with him except for a day until he placed his cheek for him<sup>asws</sup> (in submission), and he did not used to raise his eyes to him<sup>asws</sup> out of respect and reverence. So he<sup>asws</sup> came out from him, and he was the best of the people of insight, and the best of them in speech regarding him<sup>asws</sup>’.
