John Shaqi

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ فِي كِتَابِ عَلِيٍّ ( عليه السلام ) يُضْرَبُ شَارِبُ الْخَمْرِ وَ شَارِبُ الْمُسْكِرِ قُلْتُ كَمْ قَالَ حَدُّهُمَا وَاحِدٌ .


Translation

A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from hammad Bin Usman, from Umar Bin Yazeed who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘In the Book of Ali<sup>asws</sup>, a drinker of the wine is to be whipped, and a drinker of the intoxicant’. I said, ‘How much?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Their Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) is one (and the same)’.
