إِذَا زَنَى الْعَبْدُ ضُرِبَ خَمْسِينَ فَإِنْ عَادَ ضُرِبَ خَمْسِينَ فَإِنْ عَادَ ضُرِبَ خَمْسِينَ إِلَى ثَمَانِي مَرَّاتٍ فَإِنْ زَنَى ثَمَانِيَ مَرَّاتٍ قُتِلَ وَ أَدَّى الْإِمَامُ قِيمَتَهُ إِلَى مَوْلَاهُ مِنْ بَيْتِ الْمَالِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Nasr, from Humeyd Bin Ziyad, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘When the slave commits adultery, he would be whipped fifty (lashes). So if he repeats, he would be whipped fifty (lashes). So if he repeats, he would be whipped fifty (lashes), up to eight times. So if he commits adultery eight times, he would be killed (for the ninth time), and the Imam<sup>asws</sup> would pay his price to his master from the public treasury’.
