علی ابن ابراہیم نے، اپنے والد سے، ابن ابی عمیر سے، حسین بن احمد المنقری سے، عیسیٰ الضریر سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے پوچھا: ایک آدمی نے جان بوجھ کر ایک آدمی کو قتل کیا — اس کی توبہ کیا ہے؟ فرمایا: وہ اپنے آپ کو (مقتول کے وارثوں کے) اختیار میں دے دے۔ میں نے کہا: وہ ڈرتا ہے کہ وہ اسے قتل کر دیں گے۔ فرمایا: پھر انہیں دیت دے دے۔ میں نے کہا: اسے ڈر ہے کہ اس وجہ سے وہ جان لیں گے۔ فرمایا: تو وہ دیت کو چھوٹی چھوٹی پوٹلیوں میں بنائے، پھر نماز کے اوقات کا انتظار کرے اور ان کے گھر میں رکھ دے۔

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Husayn Bin Ahmad Al Minqary, from Isa Al Zareyr who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘A man kills a man deliberately, what is his repentance?’. He^asws said: ‘He should make himself available (to the guardians of the killed one)’. I said, ‘He is afraid that they might kill him’. He^asws said: ‘So let him give them the wergild’. I said, ‘He is afraid that they would come to know (it was him) due to that’. He^asws said: ‘So let him be secretive with the wergild, so let him make it as small packages, then place it during the Prayer timings (in their homes), so they can be with the wergild’.
