محمد بن یحییٰ، عبد اللہ بن محمد الخشاب سے، ابن سماعہ سے، علی بن الحسن بن رباط سے، ابن اذینہ سے، زرارہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابوجعفر (عليه السلام) کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: “محمد (عليهم السلام) کے خاندان کے بارہ امام، سب کے سب محدَّث ہیں، رسول اللہ (صلى الله عليه وآله) کی اولاد میں سے ہیں، اور علی کی اولاد میں سے ہیں؛ اور رسول اللہ اور علی (عليه السلام) دونوں باپ ہیں۔” پھر علی بن راشد نے کہا: “علی بن الحسین کا ایک بھائی اپنی ماں کی طرف سے تھا، اور اس نے اس کا انکار کیا۔” تو ابوجعفر (عليه السلام) سخت ہو گئے اور فرمایا: “بے شک، تمہاری ماں کا بیٹا ان میں سے ایک تھا۔”

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al Khashhab, from Ibn Sama’at, from Ali Bin Al Hassan Bin Ribat, from Ibn Azina, from Zurara who said, ‘I heard Abu Ja’far^asws saying: ‘The twelve Imams^asws are from the Progeny^asws of Muhammad^saww, all of them being Muhaddath (whom the Angels discuss with), from the children of Rasool-Allah^saww, and from the children of Ali^asws; and Rasool-Allah^saww and Ali^asws, they are the two fathers^asws’. Ali Bin Rashid said, ‘There was a brother of Ali Bin Al Husayn^asws to his^asws mother’s side, and he denied that, so Abu Ja’far^asws was furious and said: ‘But the son^asws of your mother is one of them^asws’.
