إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَرْسَلَ مُحَمَّداً ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِلَى الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ جَعَلَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ وَصِيّاً مِنْهُمْ مَنْ سَبَقَ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ بَقِيَ وَ كُلُّ وَصِيٍّ جَرَتْ بِهِ سُنَّةٌ وَ الْأَوْصِيَاءُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مُحَمَّدٍ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) عَلَى سُنَّةِ أَوْصِيَاءِ عِيسَى وَ كَانُوا اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ وَ كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) عَلَى سُنَّةِ الْمَسِيحِ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے محمد بن عیسیٰ بن عبید سے، انہوں نے محمد بن الفضیل سے، انہوں نے ابو حمزہ سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر (علیہ السلام) سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے فرمایا: بے شک اللہ نے محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله) کو جنوں اور انسانوں کی طرف بھیجا، اور ان کے بعد بارہ جانشین مقرر کیے۔ ان میں سے کچھ وہ ہیں جو پہلے گزر چکے، اور ان میں سے کچھ وہ ہیں جو باقی رہے؛ اور ہر جانشین کے ساتھ ایک سنت جاری ہوئی۔ محمد (صلى الله عليه وآله) کے بعد کے جانشین عیسیٰ کے جانشینوں کی سنت پر ہیں، اور وہ بارہ تھے، اور امیر المؤمنین (علیہ السلام) مسیح کی سنت پر تھے۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa Bin Ubeydullah, from Muhammad Bin Al Fuzayl, from Abu Hamza, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> having: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Sent Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> to the Jinn and the human and after him<sup>saww</sup> Made twelve succesors<sup>asws</sup>. From them<sup>asws</sup> are some who have preceded, and from them<sup>asws</sup> are some who remain; and every successor<sup>asws</sup>, a Sunnah flowed with him<sup>asws</sup>; and the successors<sup>asws</sup>, those from after Muhammad<sup>saww</sup> are upon the Sunnah of the successors<sup>as</sup> of Isa<sup>as</sup>, they were twelve, and it was so that Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> was upon the Sunnah of Isa<sup>as</sup>’.
