محمد بن قیس کی روایت میں، ابو جعفر (علیہ السلام) سے، انہوں نے فرمایا: امیر المومنین (علیہ السلام) نے چار افراد کے بارے میں فیصلہ کیا جنہوں نے شیر کے گڑھے میں جھانکا، پھر ان میں سے ایک گر پڑا اور اس نے دوسرے کو پکڑ لیا، دوسرے نے تیسرے کو، تیسرے نے چوتھے کو، یہاں تک کہ وہ ایک دوسرے کو شیر پر گرا دیا اور شیر نے سب کو مار ڈالا۔ آپ (ع) نے فیصلہ کیا کہ پہلا شیر کا شکار تھا، اور اس کے اہل پر دوسرے کے اہل کے لیے ایک تہائی دیت لازم کی؛ دوسرے کے اہل پر تیسرے کے اہل کے لیے دو تہائی دیت لازم کی؛ اور تیسرے پر چوتھے کے اہل کے لیے مکمل دیت لازم کی۔

Translation

And in a report of Muhammad Bin Qays, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abu Ja’far^asws having said: ‘Amir Al-Momineen^asws judged regarding four persons who came over to a pit of the lion, so one of them fell, so he attached himself with the second, and the second one attached himself with the third, and the third attached himself with the fourth until they fell with each other upon the lion. So the lion killed them (all). So he^asws judged with the first one as being the victim of the lion and fined his family a third of the wergild for the family of the second, and fined the family of the second on in favour of the family of the third one, a third of the wergild, and fined the third one for the family of the fourth, a complete wergild’.
