قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَسْمَعُ الْحَدِيثَ مِنْكَ فَأَزِيدُ وَ أَنْقُصُ قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ مَعَانِيَهُ فَلَا بَأْسَ .

میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے کہا: میں آپ سے حدیث سنتا ہوں تو کبھی زیادہ کر دیتا ہوں اور کبھی کم۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر تم اس کے معانی کو محفوظ رکھنے کا ارادہ رکھتے ہو تو کوئی حرج نہیں۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin yahya, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Ibr Azina, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I hear the Hadeeth from you<sup>asws</sup>, so I (sometimes) increase and reduce.’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If you had preserved its meaning, so there is no problem’.
