قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ الْكَلَامَ مِنْكَ فَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَرْوِيَهُ كَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْكَ فَلَا يَجِيءُ قَالَ فَتَعَمَّدُ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ لَا فَقَالَ تُرِيدُ الْمَعَانِيَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَلَا بَأْسَ .

میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے عرض کی: 'میں آپ سے کلام سنتا ہوں اور چاہتا ہوں کہ اسے ویسے ہی روایت کروں جیسا آپ سے سنا ہے، لیکن بعینہ نہیں آتا۔' آپ نے فرمایا: 'کیا تم یہ جان بوجھ کر کرتے ہو؟' میں نے کہا: 'نہیں۔' تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'کیا تم معانی کا ارادہ رکھتے ہو؟' میں نے کہا: 'ہاں۔' آپ نے فرمایا: 'تو پھر کوئی حرج نہیں۔'
Translation
And from him, from Muhammad Bin Al Husayn, from Ibn Sinan, from Dawood Bin Farqad who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I hear the speech from you<sup>asws</sup>, so I intend to report it just as I heard it from you<sup>asws</sup>, but it does not come’ (exactly as I had heard). He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘So you are deliberate in that?’ I said, ‘No’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘You intend (to preserve) its meaning?’ I said, ‘Yes’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘There is no problem’.
