Al-Kafi 144

اور اس سے، احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، حسین بن سعید سے، قاسم بن محمد سے، علی بن ابی حمزہ سے، ابو بصیر سے، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے عرض کیا: 'جو حدیث میں آپ سے سنتا ہوں، کیا اسے آپ کے والد سے روایت کروں؟ یا جو آپ کے والد سے سنتا ہوں، کیا اسے آپ سے روایت کروں؟' فرمایا: 'برابر ہے، سوائے اس کے کہ آپ کا اسے میرے والد سے روایت کرنا مجھے زیادہ محبوب ہے۔' اور ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام نے جمیل سے فرمایا: 'جو کچھ بھی تم نے مجھ سے سنا ہو، اسے میرے والد سے روایت کرو۔'

Translation

And from him, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Al Qasim Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘The Hadeeth I hear from you^asws, can I report it as being from your^asws father^asws, or I hear it from your^asws father^asws, can I report it as being from you^asws?’ He^asws said: ‘It is the same, except that you’re reporting it as being from my^asws father^asws is more beloved to me^asws’. And Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said to Jameel (a narrator), ‘Whatever you hear it from me<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, so report it as being from my<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> father<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>’.
