الْحُكْمُ حُكْمَانِ حُكْمُ اللَّهِ وَ حُكْمُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَ قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ مَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْماً لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ وَ اشْهَدُوا عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ لَقَدْ حَكَمَ فِي الْفَرَائِضِ بِحُكْمِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ .

ابو علی الاشعری نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، انہوں نے ابن فضال سے، انہوں نے ثعلبہ بن میمون سے، انہوں نے ابو بصیر سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، آپؑ نے فرمایا: حکم دو قسم کے ہیں — اللہ کا حکم اور جاہلیت کا حکم۔ اور تحقیق اللہ عزوجل نے فرمایا ہے: اور اللہ سے بہتر حکم دینے والا کون ہے ان لوگوں کے لیے جو یقین رکھتے ہیں؟ اور زید بن ثابت کے بارے میں گواہی دو — تحقیق اس نے فرائض (وراثت) میں جاہلیت کے حکم کے مطابق فیصلہ کیا۔
Translation
Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Ibn Fazzal, from Sa’alba Bin Maymoun, from Abu Baseer, Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘The judgements are two judgements – a Judgement of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> and a judgement of the ignorance, and Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic has Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h50"><a href="/books/quran:5#h50">[5:50]</a></a> And who is better than Allah to Judge for a people who are certain?</span>, and (I<sup>asws</sup>) bear witness that Zayd Bin Sabit had judged with regards to the Obligations by the judgement of the ignorance’.
