محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے داود العجلی سے، انہوں نے زرارہ سے، انہوں نے حمران سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: جب اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ نے خلق کو پیدا کیا، اس نے میٹھا پانی اور کڑوا نمکین پانی پیدا کیا۔ دونوں پانی مل گئے، تو اس نے زمین کی سطح سے مٹی لی اور اسے زور سے گوندھا۔ پھر اس نے اصحاب یمین سے کہا — جو چیونٹیوں کی طرح رینگ رہے تھے — جنت کی طرف سلامتی کے ساتھ چلو؛ اور اصحاب شمال سے کہا: آگ کی طرف، اور مجھے کوئی پرواہ نہیں۔ پھر اس نے کہا [7:172]: کیا میں تمہارا رب نہیں ہوں؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں، ہم گواہ ہیں — تاکہ تم قیامت کے دن یہ نہ کہو کہ ہم اس سے بے خبر تھے۔ پھر اس نے انبیاء سے میثاق لیا اور کہا: کیا میں تمہارا رب نہیں؟ اور یہ کہ محمد میرے رسول ہیں اور یہ علی امیر المؤمنین ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں! پس انہیں نبوت مل گئی۔ اور اس نے اولو العزم سے میثاق لیا: میں تمہارا رب ہوں اور محمد میرے رسول ہیں اور علی امیر المؤمنین ہیں اور ان کے بعد ان کے اوصیاء میرے امر کے والی اور میرے علم کے خزانچی ہیں علیہم السلام — اور مہدی کے ذریعے میں اپنے دین کو غلبہ دوں گا، ان کے ذریعے اپنی حکومت ظاہر کروں گا، ان کے ذریعے اپنے دشمنوں سے انتقام لوں گا، اور ان کے ذریعے خوشی اور ناخوشی سے میری عبادت ہوگی۔ انہوں نے کہا: ہم نے اقرار کیا اے رب اور گواہ ہیں۔ آدم نے نہ انکار کیا نہ اقرار۔ پس مہدی کے بارے میں یہ پختہ ارادہ ان پانچ کے لیے ثابت ہوا اور آدم کے لیے اس کا اقرار کرنے کا عزم نہ تھا — اور یہ اللہ عزوجل کا قول ہے [20:115]: اور بے شک ہم نے آدم سے پہلے عہد لیا تھا لیکن وہ بھول گئے اور ہم نے ان میں عزم نہیں پایا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: بلکہ وہ چھوڑ دیے گئے۔ پھر اللہ نے آگ کا حکم دیا اور وہ بھڑک اٹھی۔ اصحاب شمال سے کہا: اس میں داخل ہو۔ پر وہ ڈر گئے۔ اصحاب یمین سے کہا: اس میں داخل ہو۔ وہ داخل ہوئے اور آگ ان پر ٹھنڈی اور سلامتی بن گئی۔ اصحاب شمال نے کہا: اے رب، ہمیں معاف کرو۔ اللہ نے کہا: میں نے معاف کیا، جاؤ اور داخل ہو۔ وہ پھر ڈر گئے۔ پس وہاں اطاعت، ولایت اور معصیت ثابت ہو گئی۔

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Dawood Al Ijaly, from Zurara, from Humran, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far^asws having said: ‘When Allah^azwj Blessed and High Created the creation, Created the sweet water and salty bitter water. So He^azwj Blended the two waters, and Grabbed clay from the crust of the earth and Kneaded it with an intense Kneading. So He^azwj Said to the companions of the right, and they were like the crawling particles: “To the Paradise in peace!”, and Said to the companions of the left: “To the Fire, and I^azwj don’t Care”. Then He^azwj Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:7#h172"><a href="/books/quran:7#h172">[7:172]</a></a> Am I not your Lord? They said: Yes! We testify. Lest you should say on the Day of Judgement: Surely we were heedless of this</span>. Then He^azwj Took the Covenant upon the Prophets^as, so He^azwj Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:7#h172"><a href="/books/quran:7#h172">[7:172]</a></a> Am I not your Lord? </span>And that this is Muhammad^saww, My^azwj Rasool^saww, and that this is Ali^asws Amir Al-Momineen^asws?’ <span class="ibTxt">They said: Yes! We testify</span>. So the Prophet-hood was Affirmed for them^as. And He^azwj Took the Covenant upon the Determined Ones (<span class="iTxt">Ul Al-Azam</span>) (from the Prophets^as): “I^azwj am your^as Lord^azwj, and that this Muhammad^saww is My^azwj Rasool^saww, and Ali^asws is Amir Al-Momineen^asws and the successors^asws from after him^saww are the Masters of My^azwj Command and Treasurers of My^azwj Knowledge, and that Al-Mahdi^asws, I^azwj Shall Grant victory to My^azwj Religion through him^asws, and Manifest My^azwj Government through him^asws, and Exact revenge from My^azwj enemies through him^asws, and I^azwj shall be worshipped willingly and unwillingly through him^asws”. They^as said: ‘We^asws acknowledge, O Lord^azwj, and we testify’. And Adam^as neither denied nor acknowledged. Thus, the Determination was affirmed for these five regarding Al-Mahdi^asws, and Adam^as did not become a Determined One (<span class="iTxt">Ul Al-Azam</span>) upon the acknowledgement of him^asws, and these are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:20#h115"><a href="/books/quran:20#h115">[20:115]</a></a> And We had Given a Covenant to Adam before, but he forgot; and We did not find determination in him</span>’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘But rather, he<sup style="font-weight: normal">as</sup> was left out. Then He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Commanded the Fire, so it inflamed, and He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Said to the companions of the left: “Enter into it”, But they were terrified of it. And He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Said to the companions of the right: “Enter into it”. So they entered into it, and it was cold and safe upon them. So the comanions of the left said, ‘O Lord<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>! Forgive us’. So He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Said: “I<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Forgive you, so enter into it”. But, they were terrified of it. Thus, with this obedience, the <span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span>, and the disobedience (to <span class="iTxt">Wilayah</span>) came to take place’.
