Al-Kafi 1477

محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے حسن بن محبوب سے، انہوں نے صالح بن سہل سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ قریش کے ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ سے کہا: 'آپ کس چیز میں انبیاء پر سبقت لے گئے، جبکہ آپ ان میں سے آخری اور ان کے خاتم بنا کر بھیجے گئے؟' تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'بے شک میں پہلا تھا جس نے اپنے رب پر ایمان لایا، اور پہلا تھا جس نے جواب دیا جب اللہ نے انبیاء سے عہد لیا اور انہیں خود اپنے اوپر گواہ بنایا:' 'کیا میں تمہارا رب نہیں ہوں؟' تو میں پہلا نبی تھا جس نے کہا: بیشک (ہاں)۔ اس طرح میں نے اللہ عزوجل کے اقرار میں ان پر سبقت لی۔

Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Salih Bin Sahl, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘One of the Qureysh said to Rasool-Allah^saww, ‘By which thing do you^saww precede the (other) Prophets^as, and you^saww were Sent at the end of them^as, and as their^as last?’ So he^saww said: ‘I^saww was the first one to believe in my^saww Lord^azwj, and the first one to answer when He^azwj Took the Covenant of the Prophets^as <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:7#h172"><a href="/books/quran:7#h172">[7:172]</a></a> and made them testify against themselves: Am I not your Lord?</span> So I^saww was the first Prophet^saww to say: ‘Yes’. Thus I^saww preceded them^as with the acknowledgement in Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic’.
