قُلْتُ لَهُ مَا الْإِسْلَامُ فَقَالَ دِينُ اللَّهِ اسْمُهُ الْإِسْلَامُ وَ هُوَ دِينُ اللَّهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا حَيْثُ كُنْتُمْ وَ بَعْدَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا فَمَنْ أَقَرَّ بِدِينِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ مُسْلِمٌ وَ مَنْ عَمِلَ بِمَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهِ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Usman Bin Isa, from Abdullah Bin Muskan, from one of his companions, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, said, ‘I said to him<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, ‘What is Al-<span class="iTxt">Islām</span>?’ So He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘Religion of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>. It’s name is Al-<span class="iTxt">Islām</span>, and it was the Religion of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> before you happened to be, where you are, and after you. So the one who acknowledges by the Religion of Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>, so he is a Muslim, and the one who acts in accordance with whatever Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Commanded with, so he is <span class="iTxt">‘Momin’</span> (a Believer)’.
