سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ أَدْنَى الْمَعْرِفَةِ فَقَالَ الْإِقْرَارُ بِأَنَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ وَ لَا شِبْهَ لَهُ وَ لَا نَظِيرَ وَ أَنَّهُ قَدِيمٌ مُثْبَتٌ مَوْجُودٌ غَيْرُ فَقِيدٍ وَ أَنَّهُ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ .

محمد بن الحسن نے عبد اللہ بن الحسن العلوی اور علی بن ابراہیم سے، انہوں نے مختار بن محمد بن مختار ہمدانی سے — سب نے فتح بن یزید سے، انہوں نے ابو الحسن علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: میں نے ان سے ادنیٰ المعرفت کے بارے میں سوال کیا تو فرمایا: 'اس بات کا اقرار کہ اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، نہ اس کی کوئی مثل ہے اور نہ کوئی نظیر، اور یہ کہ وہ قدیم ہے، ثابت ہے، موجود ہے غائب نہیں، اور یہ کہ اس جیسی کوئی چیز نہیں۔'
Translation
Muhammad Bin Al Hassan, from Abdullah Bin Al Hassan Al Alary, and Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Al Mukhtar Bin Muhammad Bin Al Mukhtar Al Hamdany, altogether from Al Fatah Bin Yazeed, (It has been narrated) from Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about the lowest of the recognition. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The acknowledgement that there is no god apart from Him<sup>azwj</sup>, and there is neither a resemblance for Him<sup>azwj</sup> nor a counterpart, and that He<sup>azwj</sup> is Eternal, Affirmed, Existing without being absent, and that there is nothing like Him<sup>azwj</sup>’.
