إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) فَقَالُوا انْسِبْ لَنَا رَبَّكَ فَلَبِثَ ثَلَاثاً لَا يُجِيبُهُمْ ثُمَّ نَزَلَتْ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ إِلَى آخِرِهَا . وَ رَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ .

احمد بن ادریس نے محمد بن عبد الجبار سے، انہوں نے صفوان بن یحییٰ سے، انہوں نے ابو ایوب سے، انہوں نے محمد بن مسلم سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: یہودیوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ سے سوال کیا اور کہا: ہمیں اپنے رب کا نسب بیان کریں۔ تو آپ تین (دن) ٹھہرے اور انہیں جواب نہ دیا۔ پھر نازل ہوئی: قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ — اس کے آخر تک۔ اور اسے محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے علی بن الحکم سے، انہوں نے ابو ایوب سے بھی روایت کیا ہے۔
Translation
Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan Bin yahya, from Abu Ayoub, from Muhammad Bin Muslim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘The Jews asked Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> and they said, ‘(Describe the) Lineage (of) your<sup>saww</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> for us’. So he<sup>saww</sup> waited for three (days) and did not answer them. Then it was Revealed <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:112#h1"><a href="/books/quran:112#h1">[112:1]</a></a> Say: He Allah is One</span> – up to the end of it’. And it is (also) reported by Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hakam, from Abu Ayoub.
