اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ الَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَ الْفَواحِشَ إِلَّا اللَّمَمَ قَالَ الْفَوَاحِشُ الزِّنَى وَ السَّرِقَةُ وَ اللَّمَمُ الرَّجُلُ يُلِمُّ بِالذَّنْبِ فَيَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ مِنْهُ قُلْتُ بَيْنَ الضَّلَالِ وَ الْكُفْرِ مَنْزِلَةٌ فَقَالَ مَا أَكْثَرَ عُرَى الْإِيمَانِ .

یونس، اسحاق بن عمار سے، وہ ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے، اللہ عزّ و جلّ کے اس قول کے بارے میں۔ وہ لوگ جو بڑے گناہوں اور بے حیائیوں سے بچتے ہیں، سوائے اللمم کے۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: “بے حیائیوں سے مراد زنا اور چوری ہے؛ اور اللمم یہ ہے کہ آدمی کسی گناہ میں مبتلا ہو، پھر اس کے لیے اللہ سے مغفرت طلب کرے۔” میں نے کہا: “کیا گمراہی اور کفر کے درمیان کوئی منزلہ ہے؟” انہوں نے فرمایا: “ایمان کی کتنی ہی رسیاں ہیں!”
Translation
Yunus, from Ishaq Bin Ammar, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:53#h32"><a href="/books/quran:53#h32">[53:32]</a></a> Those who keep aloof from the great sins and the immoralities except for the ‘Lamam’</span>, he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The immoralities – The adultery and the theft. And the ‘Lamam’ – The man commits the sin, so he asks Forgiveness of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> from it’. I asked, ‘Is there a level between the straying and the infidelity?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘More numerous than the bonds of <span class="iTxt">Emān</span>’.
