ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن خالد سے، انہوں نے محمد بن حبیب سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عبدالرحمن الاصم سے، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن مسکان سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے فرمایا: امیر المؤمنین، صلوات اللہ علیہ، نے فرمایا: کوئی بندہ ایسا نہیں مگر اس پر چالیس ڈھالیں ہوتی ہیں، یہاں تک کہ وہ چالیس بڑے گناہ کر لے۔ پھر جب وہ چالیس بڑے گناہ کر لیتا ہے تو وہ ڈھالیں اس سے ہٹا دی جاتی ہیں، اور اللہ ان سے وحی فرماتا ہے: “میرے بندے کو اپنی پروں سے ڈھانپ لو،” چنانچہ فرشتے اسے اپنے پروں سے ڈھانپ لیتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے فرمایا: پھر وہ کوئی بھی قبیح چیز نہیں چھوڑتا مگر اسے کر گزرتا ہے، یہاں تک کہ اپنے قبیح فعل پر لوگوں کے سامنے فخر کرنے لگتا ہے۔ پھر فرشتے کہتے ہیں: “اے رب! تیرا یہ بندہ کوئی چیز نہیں چھوڑتا مگر اس میں پڑ جاتا ہے، اور ہم اس کے کیے پر شرماتے ہیں۔” تو اللہ عز و جل ان سے وحی فرماتا ہے: “اپنے پروں کو اس سے ہٹا لو۔” پھر جب ایسا کیا جاتا ہے تو وہ ہم اہلِ بیت سے بغض رکھنے لگتا ہے۔ اس وقت اس کا پردہ آسمان میں بھی چاک ہو جاتا ہے اور زمین میں بھی اس کا پردہ چاک ہو جاتا ہے، اور فرشتے کہتے ہیں: “اے رب! تیرا یہ بندہ اب پردہ فاش ہو کر رہ گیا ہے۔” تو اللہ عز و جل ان سے وحی فرماتا ہے: “اگر اللہ کو اس کے بارے میں کوئی حاجت ہوتی تو وہ تمہیں اس سے اپنے پروں کو ہٹانے کا حکم نہ دیتا۔” اور ابنِ فضّال نے بھی اسے ابنِ مُسکان سے روایت کیا ہے۔

Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Muhammad Bin Habeeb, from Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al Samma, from Abdullah Bin Muskan, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘Amir Al-<span class="iTxt">Momin</span>een^asws said: ‘There is none from a servant except upon him are forty shields, until he commits forty major sins. So when he commits forty major sins, the shields are removed from him and Allah^azwj Reveals unto them (Angels): “Veil My^azwj servant by your wings”. So the Angels veil him with their wings’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘So he does not leave anything from the ugliness until he is praised to the people by doing his ugly deed. So the Angels are saying: ‘O Lord<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>! This servant of Yours<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> has not left anything except that he rode it, and we are embarassed from what he does’. So Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Reveals unto them: “Raise your wings from him”. So when they do that, he takes to hating us<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup>, the People<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> of the Household. Thus, that tears apart his veil in the sky and his veil in the earth. So the Angels are saying: ‘O Lord<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>! This servant of Your<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> has nor remained with torn veils’. So Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Reveals unto them: “Had there been a need for Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> regarding him, He<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> would not have Commanded you to raise your wings from him’. And it has (also) been reported by Ibn Fazzal, from Ibn Muskan.
