Al-Kafi 262

میں ابو جعفر علیہ السلام کے پاس حاضر تھا کہ ان کے پاس خوارج میں سے ایک آدمی آیا اور اس نے ان سے کہا: اے ابو جعفر! آپ کس چیز کی عبادت کرتے ہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ کی۔ اس نے کہا: کیا آپ نے اسے دیکھا ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: بلکہ آنکھیں بصارت کے مشاہدے سے اسے نہیں دیکھتیں، لیکن دل ایمان کی حقیقتوں سے اسے دیکھتے ہیں۔ وہ قیاس سے نہیں جانا جاتا، نہ حواس سے پایا جاتا ہے، نہ لوگوں سے تشبیہ دی جاتی ہے۔ وہ آیات سے موصوف ہے، نشانیوں سے معروف ہے، اپنے حکم میں ظلم نہیں کرتا۔ وہی اللہ ہے، اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔ راوی نے کہا: وہ آدمی یہ کہتے ہوئے چلا گیا: اللہ بہتر جانتا ہے کہ اپنی رسالت کہاں رکھے۔ [6:124]

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ali Bin Ma’bad, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, from his father who said, ‘I was present with Abu Ja’far^asws and a man from the Kharijites came over to him^asws and said to him, ‘O Abu Ja’far^asws! Which thing do you^asws worship?’ He^asws said: ‘Allah^azwj the Exalted’. He said, ‘Have you^asws seen Him^azwj?’ He^asws said: ‘But, the eyes cannot see Him^azwj with the visualizing of the visions, but the hearts seen Him^azwj by the realities of the <span class="iTxt">Eman</span>. He^azwj cannot be recognised by the analogies, nor can He^azwj be realised by the sensory perceptions, nor can He^azwj be resembled with the people. He^azwj is Described in the Verses (of the Quran), recognised by the Signs. He^azwj is not tyrannous in His^azwj Judgments. That is Allah^azwj. There is no god except Him^azwj’. He (the narrator) said, ‘So the man went out and he was saying, ‘<span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:6#h124"><a href="/books/quran:6#h124">[6:124]</a></a> Allah best knows where He Places His Message</span>’.
