قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) أَحَبُّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي الْأَرْضِ الدُّعَاءُ وَ أَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَةِ الْعَفَافُ قَالَ وَ كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلًا دَعَّاءً .

ہمارے کئی اصحاب نے، سہل بن زیاد سے، انہوں نے جعفر بن محمد الاشعری سے، انہوں نے ابن القداح سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ (علیہ السلام) سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: امیر المومنین (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: 'اللہ عزوجل کے نزدیک زمین میں سب سے محبوب عمل دعا ہے، اور سب سے افضل عبادت عفت ہے۔' انہوں نے کہا: 'اور امیر المومنین (علیہ السلام) ایک کثیر الدعاء آدمی تھے۔'
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ja’far Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Ibn Al Qaddah, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Amir Al-<span class="iTxt">Momin</span>een<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The most Beloved of the deeds to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic in the earth, is the supplication, and the most superior of the (acts of) worship is the chastity’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And Amir Al-<span class="iTxt">Momin</span>een<sup>asws</sup> was a (frequently) supplicating person’.
