قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) هَلْ تَعْرِفُونَ طُولَ الْبَلَاءِ مِنْ قِصَرِهِ قُلْنَا لَا قَالَ إِذَا أُلْهِمَ أَحَدُكُمُ الدُّعَاءَ عِنْدَ الْبَلَاءِ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْبَلَاءَ قَصِيرٌ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، انہوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، انہوں نے ہشام بن سالم سے روایت کی کہ: ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: 'کیا تم بلاء کے طول کو اس کی قصر سے پہچانتے ہو؟' ہم نے کہا: 'نہیں۔' آپ نے فرمایا: 'جب تم میں سے کسی کو بلاء کے وقت دعا کا الہام ہو تو جان لو کہ بلاء مختصر ہے۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hisham Bin Salim who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Are you recognising the lengthening of the affliction from its shortening?’ We said, ‘No’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Whenever one of you is inspired for the supplication during the affliction, so he should know that the affliction is short (term)’.
