تَقُولُ إِذَا أَرَدْتَ النَّوْمَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا وَ إِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his fataher, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from one of his companions, raising it, ‘He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘You should be saying whenever you intend to sleep, ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! If You<sup>azwj</sup> are to Withhold my soul so be Merciful to it, and if You<sup>azwj</sup> are to Send it (back to me), so Protect it’’.
