إِذَا كَانَ الْمَاءُ فِي الرَّكِيِّ كُرّاً لَمْ يُنَجِّسْهُ شَيْءٌ قُلْتُ وَ كَمِ الْكُرُّ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةُ أَشْبَارٍ وَ نِصْفٌ عُمْقُهَا فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَشْبَارٍ وَ نِصْفٍ عَرْضِهَا.

محمد بن یحیی نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے ابن محبوب سے، انہوں نے حسن بن صالح ثوری سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: 'جب کنویں کا پانی ایک کر ہو تو کوئی بھی چیز اسے نجس نہیں کرتی۔' میں نے عرض کیا: 'کر کتنا ہوتا ہے؟' آپ نے فرمایا: 'ساڑھے تین بالشت گہرائی اور ساڑھے تین بالشت چوڑائی۔'
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Al Hassan Bin Salih Al Sowry, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘When the water in the container was a <span class="iTxt">Kurr</span>, nothing would pollute it’. I said, ‘And how much (volume) is a <span class="iTxt">Kurr</span>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Three and a half open palms width in depth by three and a half open palms width length/breadth (i.e. cubed)’.
